David 'Rudy' HALVORSEN

Rudy "David" Halvorsen died on May 10, 2009, at the age of 57. David Halvorsen was born on Feb. 24, 1952, in Mt. Shasta, Calif., the first of three children born to Robert and Lois Halvorsen. He grew up in Klamath Falls and was a 1971 graduate of Henley High School. He spent the majority of his adult life in Klamath Falls and the last 12 years in Astoria, Ore. David worked in a variety of jobs, but his favorite was driving truck. He enjoyed many activities, especially football and talking on the phone. He was an upbeat, fun-loving guy who enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the beach. The most important events in his life were the births of his children. He especially enjoyed working with the Special Olympics Foundation. David is survived by his daughter Kellie Halvorsen of Astoria; son Robert Halvorsen of Los Angeles, Calif.; mother Lois Halvorsen of Klamath Falls; brother and sister-in-law Charlie and Gwen Halvorsen of Klamath Falls; sister and brother-in-law Ruth Ann and Paul Arnett of Boise, Idaho; ex-wife Jeannie Halvorsen; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents Austin and Lucille Halvorsen and Rhinehart and Louise Steinersen and niece Jennifer Owings.
