Rebekka Elise Margarethe GRIEME

Wife of my great grand uncle John Christian Heinrich Hustedt Rebeka Elise Margarethe Grieme, daughter of John Henry Grieme and his wife Rebekanee Meyer was born at Atl Holtum Hanover, Germany on Aug. 28, 1873. OnSept. 14th of the same year she was received as a member of the Lutheran Church in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. At the age of eight years in the year 1882 she, together with her parents came to America and settled on a farm a little over a mile east of Hanover in Maple Valley Township, Buena Vista County, Iowa. She attended the confirmation classes of Pastor Philip Dornseif and was confirmed by him on April 11th, 1887.Some eight years later on February 28, 1895 she was married to Henry Hustedt, Pastor H. Wehking and performed the ceremony. Her marriage was blessed with three sons, namely Henry C., and Roy D., and Earl W. all who survive her. She died suddenly last Thursday morning of heart failure. She has been ailing for about two years. Her age was 64 years, 4 months and 15 days. She leaves morning her departure her husband, Henry Hustedt her son's Henry, Rory and Earl, her three brothers and Carsten, Dietrich and Herman Grieme and one sister Mrs. Fred Miller.
