Heinrich Wiebe, and his wife, Marie Luders Wiebe, came to America fromStedorf, Germany, in 1885. They came on the ship Elbe with seven children.
They settled on a farm near Ottertail village in Leaf Lake Township.
The farm was mostly prairie. They plowed the sod with a walking plow and three horses. They lived in a granary until a house could be built. The granary had a lean-to, which was used to stable the five milk cows and three horses.
He was the father of Dorothea, Johannes, Heinrich, Frederick, Anna, Ernest, Maria (who died in infancy), and Emma.
