Published in The Carnegie Herald, Carnegie, Caddo Co., OK Wednesday, March 27, 1963 Funeral Services Held Sunday For Dr. V.E. Martin Funeral services for Dr. V.E. Martin, Tyler, Texas, a former pioneer Carnegie dentist, were held at 2:30 Sunday at the Pitcher Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Bascom Doak, local Methodist church pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Carnegie cemetery. Dr. Martin died at Tyler March 20 after being ill since last November. Native of Missouri, he celebrated his sixtieth anniversary in dentistry before leaving Carnegie in October, 1961, and moving to Tyler. He was born April 11, 1881, and came first to the Mountain View area and then to the Carnegie community in 1914. He had been married to Delphene Dyer for over 40 years. He is survived by her.
